Holiday Reset Tips
You’ve spent the past semester in your own routine, making your own decisions, maybe even feeling a bit more independent. And now? You’re back in your childhood bedroom, surrounded by family dynamics and a fridge you don’t have to stock yourself.
It’s a shift, and shifts can be hard.
Here’s the thing: being home is a chance to reset. It’s a time to rest, reconnect, and recharge - but also an opportunity to reflect and make the most of the space between semesters.
Give Yourself Permission to Rest
If you’re feeling drained, take the time to actually recharge. Rest isn’t just lying on the couch binging Netflix (though that can totally be part of it). It’s about doing things that fill you up—whether that’s journaling, taking walks, or even saying no to plans when you need space.
Set Boundaries for Family Time
We love them, but sometimes family can be…a lot. Decide how much time you want to spend in group activities versus doing your own thing. It’s okay to say, “I need a couple of hours to myself”.
Stay Lightly Productive
You don’t have to keep yourself busy all day, but small actions can keep you from feeling like break was a total wash. You could declutter you digital space, call or text someone you have been meaning to contact, go to the dentist, finally donate those clothes and things, or try some meal prepping. Try to not entirely lose momentum during break.
>> Action Step <<
Make a list of 3 things you can get done during break ✨ AND ✨ 3 ways you can rest or have fun during break.
Here is the important part --> look at your calendar and think about when you might be able to get them done.
You're capable of making change 💫
